Google (News - Alert) has been experiencing some major changes as of late, including the stepping down of CEO, Eric Schmidt, announcing plans to hire 6,000 more employees, as well as introducing number porting to Google Voice. Now, Google has acquired conference call applications provider, SayNow, which boasts of a platform connecting fans to their favorite celebrities.
According to an announcement on its website, SayNow confirmed it will collaborate with the Google Voice team, however, it did not specify what product plans are on the table. "We'll have more to say about our roadmap as we integrate with Google, so stay tuned," SayNow said.
With this acquisition comes SayNow's platform that enables groups to communicate with celebrities and sports figures via specialized applications. Therefore, fans can call a specified number for their said role model, and listen to voice messages, interact with other fans, and even have the chance to talk to their favorite celeb.
Google, however, won't get to reap the benefits of SayNow's Big Call, a conference call app no longer available that enabled iPhone and Android (News - Alert) users to choose participants from their contact list and set up the call.
Google is setting quite a precedent for providers of conference call services. Its Google Voice allows people to combine multiple lines under one phone number and a single voicemail box, and now, users can port their existing mobile phone numbers to become their primary Google Voice number.
If you don't fall under the umbrella of users currently utilizing Google's many platforms, there is a vast amount of conference call and conferencing providers out there on the market who can match your personal and company conference call needs. In terms of easily and efficiently getting all parties involved on one call, Eagle Conferencing, a provider of robust and flexible cloud-based teleconferencing services, boasts of several solutions that allows users to schedule and launch conference calls with ease.
However, as TMCnet recently reported, call quality depends on whether the appropriate choice is made during the selection of conference call solutions. With so many expanded services on the market, companies have a lot to consider when it comes to picking the right conference call solution for its needs. Therefore, an in-depth assessment of the company's conference calling usage is required – thus saving frustration and costs, before a call is placed.
Even though the next conference call your company makes most likely won't be to a celeb or famous athlete, Eagle Conferencing offers solutions for all industries that bring all callers together for a seamless and productive experience.
